Paiute Trail System, Utah

The Paiute Trail System in Utah boasts 2800 miles of rugged trails that pass through several towns and landmarks along the way. The Paiute Trail System offers a unique experience to suit almost any type of adventure you are looking for. If you’re looking for something you’ve never seen, then try your hand at riding the 11,000-foot ridges, Aspen groves, or the slick-rock canyon trails. The Paiute Trail has something for both beginners and seasoned riders.

Moab 4WD Trails, Utah

I know that we’ve already mentioned Uta, but no list would be complete without mentioning the Moab 4WD trails. What makes these trails fun is that you’ll never run out of things to do or see. The Moab trails extend thousands of miles through the western terrain. Among the most popular trails are the Chicken Corners Trail, Gemini Bridges Trail, Poison Spider Mesa Trail, and the Moab Rim Trail. Many of these trails wind around the Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.

Bar 10 Ranch, Nevada

Grand Canyon National Park is one of the most enjoyable ATV rides anywhere in the U.S. Naturally, riders love the breathtaking scenery as well as the challenge of tackling the rim around the canyon. With almost a million acres of trails, you’ll never run out of places to ride. One of the best (and most challenging) features of the Bar 10 Ranch is that it is the perfect place to truly get away. It is one of the most isolated trails anywhere in the Western U.S. Make sure you take plenty of supplies.

Imperial Sand Dunes, California

And now for something completely different. Deep in the heart of Southern California lie the Imperial Sand Dunes - and plenty of sand there is. Imperial Sands is consistently voted the #1 dunes to ride anywhere in America. Riders can blaze through 20,000 acres of dunes. If you’re feeling a bit daring, then try to take on Competition Hill or Oldsmobile Hill. The best time to go riding is late September through April. You can go in the summertime, but you may get overheated.

Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, Oregon

If you head North from California, you’ll eventually come to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Though not as popular as the Imperial Sand Dunes, the Oregon Dunes has its own set of challenges for experienced riders. At 32,000 acres, there’s more land to explore than in Southern California. The National Recreation Area is the largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in North America. The dunes can reach upwards of 500 feet and extend over two miles inland. We recommend taking on the trails around Spinreel Campground, Horsfall Road, or Umpqua riding area.
