When it comes to convenience and accessibility, CFMOTO ATVs give you both with many of the features we've added to our all-terrain machines. One of the most popular features is our 2wd/4wd thumb control. Below, explore this component even further as well as the benefits to you. What is 2wd/4wd?

Like many cars and trucks, we equip our ATVs with a 2wd/4wd option that you can switch as you're driving the vehicle. If you're new to ATVs, you may not know the difference between the two. Here is a brief explanation:

2wd. A 2wd ATV is equipped to handle dirt roads and medium terrain or pavement with absolute power. Most ATVs utilize this function on the front wheels. That way you have superior traction in moderate terrain and inclement weather such as rain or snow.

4wd. If you want a little more traction and power in rougher terrain, we recommend that you switch to 4wd. This option routes power equally to the front and rear wheels which turn at the same rate of speed. We design the 4wd features for off-road adventure and rugged terrain. Since the 4wd feature requires additional power, you should not operate the ATV at high speeds.

2wd/4wd Thumb Control: Instant Versatility

As you drive from light terrain to more rugged terrain, you need to be able to transition from 2wd to 4wd with absolute ease and precision. That is why we created the thumb control. Instead of stopping the ATV and adjusting the wheels (as with older ATVs), you simply flip the throttle from 2wd to 4wd using your thumb. This component gives you the freedom to go from smooth terrain to a rougher landscape without losing torque or power on the vehicle. Thumb control allows you to drive like the pros.

Available on All CFMOTO Models

If you like the thumb control feature, you can now get it on all of our ATVs including the single-passenger transports and the side by sides. We recommend you undergo initial training and practice before engaging the device in an actual setting. If you have any questions about how the thumb control works or when is the best time to use it, our experts can help make the most of the feature.
